Abstrakt v dalším jazyce:	The article discusses the communication strategies occuring in the Czech minority in Daruvar, Croatia. The linguistic phenomena of Czech minority speakers are formed so as to eliminate the risk of misunderstanding in a multicultural environment. This paper is the partial result of anthropological research. It was found that the Czech ethnic group maintains its individuality and identity, but also endeavours to communicate with the native majority. The paper also presents the method of intercultural communication between Czechs and Croats and its consequences. On one hand the Czech minority in the neighbourhood of Daruvar endeavours to preserve its culture and strives to retain its “Czechness”, on the other hand it has a sympathetic attitude to the diverse ethnic environment and has no problems communicating in both Czech and Croatian. Representatives of the Daruvar Czech community also flexibly and correctly respond to different linguistic situations, putting their intercultural communication on a very high level.
