| Abstract: | Paroplavební společnost, druhá sekce Rakouského Lloydu, byla založena v roce 1836 zástupci pojišťoven, bankovních domů a soukromých subjektů v Terstu. Cílem této společnosti bylo rozvinout dopravu do středomořských přístavů a později do vzdálených přístavů v zámoří. Autoři této studie analyzovali bezprostřední okolnosti založení paroplavební společnost, zapojení a vliv bankovního domu Rothschild a počáteční fungování společnosti. Pokud jde o vývoj společnosti, mino jiné se práce zaměřuje na dopad krize z let 1837/38, úvěry přijaté společností Lloyd v letech 1839 a 1845, nákup lodí První lodní dunajské paroplavební společnosti a na snahy společnosti Lloyd podílet se na přepravě pošty mezi Velkou Británií a Indií. Konečně byly také posouzeny okolnosti na počátku druhé fáze vývoje paroplavební společnosti Rakouského Lloydu v padesátých letech 19. století. |
| Abstract in different language: | Steamship Company, the second section of the Austrian Lloyd, was founded by representatives of the insurance companies, banks and private entities in Trieste in 1836. The aim of this company was to develop transport to Mediterranean ports and later to remote overseas ports. The authors of this study analyzed the immediately circumstances of the establishment of the steamship company, involvement and influence of the banking house Rothschild and the initial functioning of the company. As for the development of the company, among other things, the paper focuses on the impact of the crisis 1837/38, loans taken by Lloyd in 1839 and 1845, purchase of the First Danube Steamships Co. ships and on the efforts of Lloyd to take part in the transport of mail between Great Britain and India. Finally, the circumstances at the beginning of the second phase in the development of the Steamship Company of Austrian Lloyd in the 1850s were assessed. |
