| Abstrakt v dalším jazyce: | A part of the fortification of the Tovačov castle area, which is accessible to the public, was inspected in detail in 2003 in connection with a repair of a bulwark of the roundel fortification. This inspection revealed a lot of interesting findings correcting previous ideas of form and development of the Tovačov roundel fortification. The fortification of Tovačov castle centre can be compared to the slightly more monumental fortification of the castle in Pardubice, while the fortification of the outer bailey can be compared to the fortification of the town of Pardubice itself. We can speculate about existence of some kind of wall on the top of the core bulwark in Tovačov and in comparison with Pardubice, the fortification of the back part of the bulwark is taken up to its top. |
