dc.description.abstract-translated | The paper focuses on the question of value of medieval and early modern economic instruction in castellology, and tries to introduce a brief overview of their origins in Czech ambience. A case study follows, focused on the instruction for Křivoklát hetman Albrecht of Vřesovice from 1528. In the instruction, duties of hetmans, burgraves and several other castle officials and servants (such as revenue scribes, cooks, head cooks, bakers, blacksmiths and maltsters) are described in detail. Moreover, the hinterland of the castle and instructions on its maintenance are also mentioned. Despite the fact that the confrontation with other sources shows this instruction was never fully implemented, it represents an interesting insight into the vision of ideal administration and economic running of the castle and it can be considered a unique source for studying everyday life in a castle. The edition of sources is part of the text. | en |
