dc.description.abstract-translated | Within the example of Nový Herštejn castle, the transformation from a medieval residential seat into an object of predominantly military character can be well observed. As the Bohemian – Bavarian conflict of the late 15th to early 16th century was proceeding, the castle underwent reconstruction supressing its residential function. Based on this transformation, a fast development of castle's fortification potential occurred which relics are still visible at certain parts of the castle complex. | en |
