Abstrakt v dalším jazyce:	Hydraulic log splitters have recently been an invaluable help in preparing and producing fuel wood, especially in households and small traders’ shops. They allow us to reduce the hard work done to cleave the wood and to increase productivity while eliminating the potential risk of injuries. The used hydraulic systems make it possible to exert huge cleaving forces using log splitters with relatively compact dimensions. The presented article deals mainly with the synthesis and design of the log splitters hydraulic circuits, and it introduces the possible methodology of its calculation using an electric motor drive. However, a design problem lies in a choice of an appropriate intensity of an effective cleaving force for which the given cleaving equipment must be dimensioned in order that the selected power of the driving motor is optimal. Several connection diagrams of log splitters hydraulic circuits are provided along with the explanation of their functionality. A majority of the diagrams concerns the acceleration of the operating and reverse non-operating motion of the hydromotor, which results in the increase in the log splitter power.
