Abstract in different language: The paper is focused on the lower nobility, which resided in the Čáslav region at the beginning of the Thirty Years’ War. This region was a place of residence for several mutualy connected noble families. The most numerous were Knights, who infl uenced the region not only on administrative, but also on cultural and commercial level. Great change occured in the fi rst stage of the war, when the Protestant knights, who formed a substantial part of this social layer in that region, had to abandon the country and their domains passed to catholic nobility. The main goal of this paper is thus to introduce the lower nobility of this region, its activities in the region and consequences of the beginning of the Thirty Years’ War and its Bohemian part, which infl uenced the life in the Čáslav region. The source base for this work is represented mostly by fi scal indexes from 1622 to 1624, stored in SOkA Kutná Hora.
