dc.description.abstractRodák z Vysokého mýta a právník Martin Kopecký byl vysoce kvalifikovaným státním zaměstnancem v první polovině 19.století. Svou úřednickou dráhu započal v Benešově a Kutné Hoře. Už na pozici purkmistra se osvědčil nejdříve ve městech Tábor a Loket, než byl v roce 1828 přeložen jako purkmistr do Plzně. Zde se pokoušel v mezích konzervatismu reformovat toto zemědělsko-řemeslnické centrum západní části českého království. Tato bakalářská práce se pokouší popsat rozličné sféry městského života v období, kdy byl Kopecký purkmistrem Plzně a tematicky je rozdělena na tři části. V té první se blíže seznámíme s osobností purkmistra a jeho počiny ve funkci. Druhá část popisuje město první poloviny 19. století z jeho hospodářské a urbanistické stránky a nastiňuje etnické rozvrstvení a počet obyvatel. Třetím nosným tématem práce je kulturní a společenský obraz města, ve kterém se začaly šířit myšlenky národního obrození. Práce je zakončena přehledem názorů na Kopeckého činnost v Plzni očima soudobých autorů v 19. století, jako i reakcemi současných historiků století dvacátého a jednadvacátého.cs

dc.description.abstract-translatedMartin Kopecký, a native of Vysoké Mýto and a lawyer, was a highly qualified civil servant in the first half of the 19th century. He began his career in Benešov and Kutná Hora. He first proved himself as mayor in the towns of Tábor and Loket, before he was transferred to Pilsen in 1828 as mayor. Here he tried to reform this agricultural and craft center in the western part of the Czech Kingdom within the limits of conservatism. This bachelor thesis tries to describe various spheres of urban life in the period when Kopecký was the mayor of Pilsen and is thematically divided into three parts. In the first one, we will get acquainted with the personality of the mayor and his deeds in office. The second part describes the city in the first half of the 19th century from its economic and urban side and outlines the ethnic stratification and population. The third main theme of the work is the cultural and social image of the city, in which the ideas of the national revival began to spread. The work ends with an overview of views on Kopecký's activities in Pilsen through the eyes of contemporary authors in the 19th century, as well as the reactions of contemporary historians of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.en
