| Abstract in different language: | The paper focuses on the issue of two abandoned fortresses known as Machovice in close proximity to Čejkovice (District of České Budějovice). While the fortress situated to the south was abandoned at the beginning of the Thirty Years’ War, the fortress located to the north was preserved in the form of ruins until the advanced stages of the 18th century. Based on archival sources and archeological material, the author attempts to outline the construction scheme of the fortress. |
