| Abstract: | Bestiář transgenních organismů je instalace reagující na autorem negativně vnímaný trend současného moderního zemědělství - genetickou manipulaci organismů (GMO). Teoretická část práce popisuje negativa této zemědělské technologie a reálné hrozby s ní spojené. Dále sa také snaží nastínit jednotlivé principy autorovy tvorby (předchozí i současné) a autorův vztah k uměleckým dílům a výtvarníkům pracujících s negativními emocemi a lidským strachem. Praktická část je složená z osmi exemplářů Bestiáře transgenních organismů. Každý z exemplářů je kombinací odlitků různých druhů zeleniny, zhotovených z odlévacích silikonů a kolorovaného transparentního lukoprenu. Exempláře jsou umístěné do osmi nádob s roztokem (opatřených štítky se jmény a jinými informacemi), jež jsou nainstalovány do bílých skladištních regálů. Práce je presentována jako odtajněný archiv biotechnologické společnosti a představuje výtvarnou vizualizaci hrozeb, které si autor s technologií GMO spojuje. Jako doprovodný úkol zhotovil autor krátký (z části animovaný) film. |
| Abstract in different language: | The Bestiary of Transgenic Organisms is an installation reflecting the author's negative perception of the current trend in modern agriculture - genetically modified organisms (GMO). The theoretical part of this thesis describes the negative aspects of this agricultural technology and real threats associated with it. Furthermore, it tries to outline particular principles of the author's work (previous and current) and the author's attitude to works of art and artists dealing with negative emotions and human fear. The practical part consists of eight exhibits of the Bestiary of Transgenic Organisms. Each of these exhibits is a combination of various vegetables castings, made of silicon rubber and colorized transparent silicone putty Lukopren. The exhibits are placed in eight solution containing vessels (labelled with names and other information), which are installed in white warehouse shelves. The work is presented as a declassified archive of a biotechnological company and is an artis tic visualization of the threats which the author associates with GMO technology. As an accompanying assignment, the author has made a short (partly animated) film. |
