Abstract in different language: The paper presents a new approach to the theory of aspect graphs. This approach is based on the presumption that an equivalence relation can be introduced on the set of images of a given scene. The equivalence relation induces the decomposition of the set of images, which is infinite, into the finite number of classes. Similarly, also the space surrounding the scene is decomposed into the classes. From every point of certain class, equivalent images of the scene are perceived. The aspect graph is the graph that contains the information about these classes and the relations between them. Presented theory enables to put the approaches published earlier into the unifying framework. The paper also presents an example in which the general theory of aspect graphs is applied to the three-dimensional problem. Also an algorithm for computing the decomposition of space into the classes is proposed.
