Abstract in different language: Complex industrial processes are usually controlled by advanced control systems. The control system guarantees basic functioning of the process, but a part of responsibility for the setting of several parameters is left to operators. As the settings of these parameters can substantially influence the behaviour of the whole process and possibly the quality of production, it is reasonable to provide the operator with a support tool that can help him to avoid improper settings of these parameters. One possibility is to provide the operator with an advisory system. In this work, a probability based advisory system and its integration into the whole control system is discussed. As the advisory system is highly dependent on the availability of process data of a good quality, attention is devoted to data acquisition, transfer and storage within the distributed control system. The processing of data for the purposes of the advisory system, in this case based on the Bayesian probability theory, is discussed in detail further in this work. For better understanding, the problems and solutions are explained by using of an example of complex industrial process — metal strip rolling.
