Abstract in different language: The changes in the standards and regulations pertaining to such parameters affecting electromagnetic compatibility, like voltage harmonic content and the value of tangent j require the need to adapt the power of the condensers necessary for attaining a required value of the power coefficient in the point of power input from the network. Moreover, the operating conditions of the condensers should be analyzed, with consideration of admissible levels of particular harmonics of the power network voltage. The paper presents the values of reactive power that should be ensured in order to satisfy the regulations in force. Variations in the reactive power absorbed by the motors are provided for different values of the THD(U) coefficient and different values of particular harmonic components.
