Abstract: The paper deals with the construction design, thermal simulation analysis and cooler control proposal of double three-phase inverter suitable for electric vehicles. It gives a discussion on basic mechanical design and electric topology, both having strong influence on electrothermal operability. The paper also presents the thermal analyses of the converter operated at specified loading profile and gives control possibilities. Finally, the paper presents the cooler control design and demonstrates its functionality. The paper also discusses its impact on the converter lifetime and implementation.
