Abstract in different language: Weconsiderfluid-saturatedporoelasticmediawhosethemechanicalresponseisgovernedbytheBiotmodelrelevanttoamesoscopicscale.Assumingthematerialpropertiesbeingdescribedbyperiodicfunctions,toanalyzewavepropagationinsuchheterogeneousandanisotropicmedia,wederiveaformulationbasedontheFloquet-Bloch(FB)wavedecom-positionwhichenablestoanalyzewaveswithinthewholefirstBrillouinzoneassociatedwiththeperiodicstructure.ThewavedispersionresultsobtainedbytheFBapproacharecomparedwiththosecomputedusingamodelderivedbythehomogenizationbasedontheasymptoticanalysiswithrespecttothescaleparameter.Asanothernewingredient,thehomogenizedmodelisextendedtodescribemediasaturatedsimultaneouslybymultipledifferentfluids,sothatthemodelinvolvesnewpermeabilitytensorsanddiffersinstruc-turefromthemodelderivedearlier.ThedispersionanalysisbytheFBapproachleadstoacumbersomequadraticeigenvalueproblemtobesolvedforcomplexwavenumbers.Wesuggestanefficientfiltrationstrategytoidentifytheprinciplepropagatingmodes(thefastandslowcompressionalwavesandtheshearwaves).ForcomparisonwithresultsoftheFBtransformationappliedatthemesoscopicheterogeneityscale,thehomogenizedmodelresponsesarereconstructedusingthecorrectorresultsofthehomogenizationwithfixingafinitescale.Numericalexamplesillustrateverygoodcorrespondenceofthedispersionresults,ascomputedbyboththeapproaches.
