Abstract in different language: The calculation of the winding's series resistance is complicated, especially when high frequency and geometrical effects like the skin-, the proximity, or the current-loop effect can affect the electromagnetic field inside the wire. Finite element analysis (FEA) can calculate any electromagnetic quantity like eddy currents, resistance, losses, etc. However, for considered operation frequency, it may require a huge computational time when a complex or asymmetric geometry needs to be analyzed. It is particularly ineffective when optimization is necessary. Due to the mentioned reasons, within this work, the focus is given on the current-loop effect analysis. It is shown how to separate its impact from other phenomena like skin and the proximity effects. The paper also discusses the basic physics and relevant mechanisms of their origin. All the proposed theoretical assumptions are supported by several detailed analyses and are closely discussed by the results received from Finite Element Methods.
