dc.description.abstractTato diplomová práce se zabývá průběhem epidemie onemocnění covid-19 ve vybraných zemích Východoafrického společenství. Konkrétně se jedná o Burundi, Keňu, Rwandu, Tanzanii a Ugandu. Epidemiologická situace v jednotlivých státech je sledována podle počtu pozitivně testovaných lidí, zatíženosti nemocnic či počtu úmrtí v důsledku komplikací způsobených onemocněním covid-19. Dále jsou sledovány vládní opatření, jejichž cílem je zamezit šíření nového koronavirového onemocnění. Mezi takováto opatření lze zařadit omezení pohybu, zákazy hromadných akcí, uzavření škol a pracovišť nebo povinnost nošení roušek. Významným činitelem v boji proti nemoci covid-19 jsou taktéž vakcíny. Druhá polovina práce je věnována dopadům protiepidemiologických opatření na ekonomické aktivity. V této části jsou srovnávány země dle indikátorů jako hrubý domácí produkt, inflace nebo míra nezaměstnanosti. Cílem tohoto srovnání je, zda státy, které zavedly méně tvrdá opatření, zaznamenaly méně negativních dopadů než země s přísnějšími opatřeními.cs

dc.description.abstract-translatedThis master's thesis deals with the course of covid-19 epidemic in the selected countries of East African Community. The selected countries include Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. The epidemiological situation in individual states is monitored through the number of people with positive test, the burden on hospitals or the number of deaths which were caused by covid-19. Government measures, that are preventing the spread of a new coronavirus disease, are also being monitored. Such measures may include restrictions on movement, bans on public events, the closure of schools and workplaces or the obligation to wear masks. Vaccines are also an important factor in the fight against covid-19. The second part of the thesis is devoted to the impact of anti-epidemic measures on economic activities. Countries are compared according to indicators, such as gross domestic product, inflation, or unemployment rate. The aim of this comparison is whether countries, that have introduced less stringent measures, have seen fewer negative effects than countries with more stringent measures.en
