| Abstract: | Uvedená studie, s využitím publikovaných a nepublikovaných zdrojů a odborné literatury, se zabývá fenoménem tzv. obranných jednot, které vznikaly na konci 19. a jejichž cílem bylo přispět k národnostnímu boji na česko-německém jazykovém pomezí. Konkrétně se zaměřuje na Národní jednotu pro východní Moravu, která sídlila v Olomouci, a soustředila se na oblast Jihlavska, Brněnska a současně území od Dačicka až k Břeclavi. Hlavním úkolem obranných jednot bylo organizování společenského a kulturního života v místech působnosti, ale i politická činnost, která sice nebyla jejich hlavním úkolem, avšak jednotlivé odbory se jí přirozené nemohly vyhnout. |
| Abstract in different language: | This study uses both published and unpublished sources and academic literature to look at the phenomenon of so-called defence unions, which were set up beginning at the end of the 19th century and whose objective was to contribute towards the national struggle at the Czech-German language border area. Specifically, it focuses on the National Association of East Moravia, which was based in Olomouc and which focused on the Jihlava and Brno districts and the area of territory from Dačice to Břeclav. The main task of the defence unions involved organising social and cultural life in the areas they operated in; political activity, which was something which naturally the unions could not avoid, was nevertheless not part of their primary focus. |
