| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje životu Viléma staršího Popela z Lobkowicz, protestantského šlechtice, který významně zasáhl do dějin stavovského povstání především jako direktor a následně jako nejvyšší hofmistr království. Práce popisuje život tohoto šlechtice a jeho politický vzestup a pád. Zaměřuje se především na léta stavovského povstání a následnou dobu po bělohorské porážce, kdy byl Vilém zatčen, souzen a následně doživotně uvězněn na Zbirohu. Práce se také zabývá jeho rodinou, náboženským přesvědčením, majetkovými poměry a hodnotí význam tohoto šlechtice v rámci českých i regionálních dějin. |
| Abstract in different language: | This bachelor thesis is devoted to the life of Vilém the Elder Popel of Lobkowicz, a protestant aristocrat who made a significant contribution to the history of the Estates Revolt, first as a director and then as the kingdom's highest hofmeister. The thesis describes the life of this nobleman and his political rise and fall. It focuses mainly on the years of the Estates Revolt and the subsequent period after the defeat on the White Mountain, when Vilém was arrested, judged and subsequently imprisoned for life at Zbiroh. The thesis also deals with his family, religious beliefs, property conditions and assesses the importance of this nobleman in Czech and regional history. |
