Abstract in different language: Morphing or metamorphosis is a technique for shape transformation between two objects. It smoothly transforms the shape of the source object to the shape of the target object. Morphing is usually used as an animation technique, for creation of some special effects, but it can be also used as a modeling tool, where some existing shapes are combined in order to obtain new shapes. In this technical report we will focus on morphing of objects given in boundary representation, i.e. objects described by a set of vertices and faces. Three basic steps of morphing boundary representation are investigated. The first step is an establishing of correspondence of vertices, which involves computing a parametrization of both input meshes. In the second step a supermesh is constructed by a process called topological merging. It results in a mesh which can be transformed to the shape of the source mesh as well as to the shape of the target mesh. The third step deals with interpolation of corresponding vertices, i.e. the morphing animation. It also involves interpolation of surface attributes as normals, colors, textures, etc. Possible improvements, ideas and suggestions for further research are also presented.
