Abstract in different language: | This thesis deals mainly with the Festival of Britain, which was held in 1951 and was opened for 5 months. It also briefly describes the period from 1945 to 1951 and the post-war situation of Britain, but the main goal of the work was the 1951 Festival. The post-war situation in Britain was slowly improving and the Labour Party headed by Clement Attlee organized the Festival to show people the beauty of art, science and technology. The Festival had very high attendance, over 10 million people came to see the Exhibition. Despite such a high number of visitors, when Winston Churchill came to power in 1951, he decided to remove and destroy almost all buildings, statues, inventions and other elements of the Exhibition. |
