Abstract in different language: | This work deals with marine biodetrital sands from the littoral zone of the Mediterranean Sea which are excellent subject for teaching of biology and presentation of attractive marine biota in biology exercises. A small volumes of these sands from five localities of Greek islands (Isles of Karpathos, Cephalonia, Kythyra, Crete) were used. All shells, plates, tubes, zoaria fragments were picket out from each sample under the binocular microscope. Shells of gastropods, bivalves and foraminifera dominate in samples. These groups are associated by less common shells of scaphopods, chitons, bryozoans, echinoids, polychaete tubes, brachiopods, red algae, and crustacean fragments. In total 3080 mollusc specimens were selected, with dominant gastropods represented by 2321 specimens. Results are presented by graphs and in tables. Fourteen tasks focused to the most dominant and attractive shells in sands are presented in the second part of the work. There are three tasks about foraminifera, one on brachiopod, one on echinoids, one on echinoid parasites, one on gastropod predation, one of bryozoans, and remaining six on mollusc morphology. Each exercise describes a task, motivation, information about subject of exercise, supplemented by two or three model questions. Species noted in tasks and their features are illustrated in tables in the last part of the work. |
