| Abstract: | Tématem této diplomové práce je vývoj vztahu Turecka k USA po roce 2003, tedy po nástupu Strany spravedlnosti a rozvoje (AKP) k moci. Po vítězství AKP v parlamentních volbách 2002 prošla turecká zahraniční politika zásadním vývojem a změnami. Nová vláda probudila v tureckém národu "neo-osmanské" ambice a Turecko začalo prohlubovat vztahy s Ruskem a dalšími zeměmi a zapojovat se do regionálních konfliktů na různých stranách. Hlavním cílem práce je prostřednictvím analýzy zahraniční politiky Turecka a jeho geopolitických priorit zjistit, jaké konkrétní události a procesy měly dopad na vztahy mezi Tureckem a USA v letech 2003 až 2021. Dále potvrdit či vyvrátit hypotézu, že změna turecké zahraniční politiky po nástupu AKP k moci vedla ke zhoršení turecko-amerických vztahů. |
| Abstract in different language: | The topic of this diploma thesis is the development of Turkey's relationship with the USA after 2003, i.e. after the Justice and Development Party (AKP) came to power. Following the AKP's victory in the 2002 parliamentary elections, Turkish foreign policy underwent major developments and changes. The new government has aroused "neo-Ottoman" ambitions in the Turkish nation, and Turkey has begun to deepen relations with Russia and other countries and participate in regional conflicts on various sides. The main aim of the thesis is to find out, through the analysis of Turkey's foreign policy and its geopolitical priorities, what specific events and processes had an impact on the relations between Turkey and USA from 2003 to 2021. Furthermore, to confirm or refute the hypothesis that the change in Turkey's foreign policy after the AKP came to power resulted in a deterioration of Turkish-US relations. |
