| Abstract: | Cílem disertační práce je analýza vybraných aspektů činnosti Národní jednoty severočeské v období 1918-1938 s logickými nutnými přesahy před rok 1914 a za rok 1938. Práce ve své úvodní kapitole nastiňuje důležité fenomény národ a nacionalismus, které obranné spolky ve svých verbálních projevech často používaly. Práce se ve své další kapitole zabývá správním členěním a organizační strukturou Národní jednoty severočeské, a to z důvodu objasnění fungování uvedeného obranného spolku. Hlavní část disertační práce, analýza vybraných aspektů činnosti Národní jednoty severočeské v letech 1918-1938, je uvedena kapitolou o vzniku samostatného československého státu, v jehož rámci se obranné spolky pohybovaly. Následně je provedena detailní analýza působení Národní jednoty severočeské ve 20. a 30. letech 20. století. Z činnosti Národní jednoty severočeské si autorka pro svou disertační práci zvolila analýzu oblastí školství, voleb a sčítání lidu v době první Československé republiky. V závěrečné kapitole se autorka věnuje okolnostem působení jednoty po Mnichovské konferenci v září 1938. |
| Abstract in different language: | The topic of the PhD thesis is an analysis of selected aspects of activities of the National Association of the Northern Bohemia in years 19181938 and before year 1914 and also after year 1938. National Association of Northern Bohemia was a protective national association founded in the first half of 1885 (22nd March), which was supposed to be a counterpart to the already existing Alliance of Germans (Bund der Deutschen). Its activities performed in the northern Bohemian regions.During the First Republic, the amount of work of the association increased considerably. The National Association of Northern Bohemia dealt with cultural issues. There were many of such activities. They were related to the foundation of schools and libraries, and the organization of specialized lectures. The association, with the assistance of other associations (Central School Association), tried to support the foundation of minority schools, help them financially and legally because the Germans tried to halt the establishment on minority schools during the 1920s and 1930s. The National Association of Northern Bohemia helped the refugees from the border region in the period following the Munich Agreement, as did other similar organizations (e.g. the National Association of Southern Bohemia and the Central School Association). In March 1939, the association became part of the National Association and ceased to exist as an independent organization. |
