| dc.description.abstract | Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na činnost Pohraniční stráže na česko-bavorské hranici v letech 1948-1989. Cílem práce je analyzovat systém ochrany státní hranice, popsat jednotlivé ženijně technické prostředky zabezpečení hranice a nastínit strukturu a fungování Pohraniční stráže. Závěrečná část práce analyzuje případy úmrtí příslušníků Pohraničí stráže na česko-bavorské hranici, přičemž hlavní pozornost je věnována problematice sebevražd. První kapitola práce nastiňuje způsob ostrahy státní hranice v období let 1945-1948. Druhá kapitola představuje problematiku pohraničního území a jeho režimu. Třetí kapitola se věnuje vzniku a vývoji Pohraniční stráže. Je zde stručně zmapována historie pohraniční stráže a vysvětlena její struktura a fungování. Čtvrtá kapitola analyzuje jednotlivé prostředky ženijně technických zabezpečení, které hrály klíčovou roli v ostraze státní hranice a tvořily fyzickou podobu železné opony. Pátá kapitola se věnuje službě na státní hranici, konkrétním způsobům ostrahy hranice a rozdělením hlídek. Poslední, šestá kapitola analyzuje příčiny úmrtí příslušníků Pohraničí stráže sloužících na česko-bavorské hranici v letech 1951-1990. V tomto období zemřelo v souvislosti s výkonem služby 211 vojáků, přičemž každý třetí případ byla sebevražda. Tato část práce zkoumá motivy sebevražd, jejich souvislost s výkonem služby, a zda se jednalo o řadové vojáky nebo vojáky z povolání. V závěru práce je podrobně představeno 5 konkrétních případů, vybraných ze všech zkoumaných pohraničních brigád z různých časových období. Jednotlivé případy dokreslují službu a život pohraničníků na státní hranici. | cs |

| dc.description.abstract-translated | This thesis focuses on the activities of the Border Guard on the Czech-Bavarian border in the years 1948-1989. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the system of state border protection, to describe the individual engineer and technical resources of border security and to describe the structure and functioning of the Border Guard. The final part of the thesis analyses cases of deaths of border guards on the Czech-Bavarian border, with the main focus on the issue of suicides. The first chapter of the thesis describes the method of guarding the state border in the period 1945-1948 The second chapter presents the problems of the border area and its regime. The third chapter focuses on the origin and development of the border guards. The history of the Border Guard is briefly mapped, and its structure and functioning explained. The fourth chapter analyses the different resources of engineers and technical security that played a key role in guarding the state border and constituted the physical form of the Iron Curtain.. Chapter Five discusses the duty at the state border, specific methods of border security, distribution, and types of guard posts. The last, sixth chapter analyses the causes of death of border guards serving on the Czech-Bavarian border between 1951 and 1990. The main focus is on the issue of suicide, the most common cause of death. This part of the thesis analyses the motives of suicides, their relation to the performance of service and whether they were ordinary soldiers or professional soldiers. The thesis concludes with a detailed presentation of five specific cases, selected from all the border brigades studied from different time periods. The individual cases illustrate the service and life of border guards on the national border. | en |
