Abstract: Tato diplomová práce se zabývá glaciálními kary Vysokých Tater - z pohledu jejich morfometrických charakteristik (statistická analýza). Tyto byly dále zahrnuty do geodatabáze (GIS) a doplněny návrhem deglaciační chronologie (stanovena na základě dosud publikovaných studií, v jejichž rámci autoři datovali obnažené povrchy v karech Vysokých Tater).
Abstract in different language: This paper deals with the relict glacial landforms of the High Tatra Mountains, Slovakia and Poland, from the point of geomorphometry. The morphometric characteristics of glacial cirques were measured, calculated or derived, and subsequently followed by a statistical analysis. All these data were included into a geodatabase (GIS) that was upgraded in the final step of the study with the classification of deglaciation. The study is divided into chapters. Firstly, the author set the aims of the thesis and a study question (hypothesis). The main objectives were: to identify all the cirques in the High Tatra Mountains; to classify these landforms according to the age of deglaciation; to include that information into the geodatabase and specify it. The author expected in her hypothesis that the cirques with similar morphometric characteristics will be also the similar age of deglaciation. Following sections were focused on the theoretical basis of the geological background of the study area, the glacial erosion and its forms, the Quaternary glaciations and climate conditions. Consequently, the paper involved practical chapters in which the author dealt with the cirque morphometry and statistically analyzed the data obtained for the whole mountain range of the High Tatras. Last but not least, a section concerned with the results of the preceding exposure dating studies was included, followed by the attempt to classify the landforms according to its age of deglaciation. Finally, the index of resources, graphs and tables was listed. The submitted study attempts to provide a complex perspective on the whole area of interest, and eventually set a basis for future interdisciplinary studies.
