| Abstract: | Značná rozdílnost mezi východním a západním přístupem k vědomí pramení z neoddělitelného propojení náboženství a filozofie na východě a zaměření se na exaktní vědecké přístupy na západě. Výchozí hypotézou práce je přesvědčení, že se tyto diametrálně odlišné přístupy k vědomí mohou vzájemně obohatit a cílem práce je zjistit jak a čím. Otázkou je, zda poznatky z indických filozofických škol mohou přinést světlo a možná i nový směr pro zkoumání vědomí západními filozofy a vědci. Práce je rozdělena na čtyři části, kdy první se věnuje pohledu na mysl a vědomí z perspektivy východních nauk, druhá se věnuje problematice vědomí z pohledu západní filozofie. Třetí část ukazuje metody zkoumání vědomí s důrazem na introspekci a fenomenologické metody a závěr práce je věnován komparaci zjištěných rozdílů, styčných bodů a úvahám nad přínosem případné další spolupráce východních a západních myslitelů při definování vědomí. |
| Abstract in different language: | The significant difference between Eastern and Western approaches to consciousness originates from the inseparable connection between religion and philosophy in the East and, on the other hand, the focus on exact scientific approaches in the West. The initial hypothesis of this diploma thesis is the belief that these diametrically opposed approaches to consciousness can be mutually enriching - and the aim of this diploma thesis is to find out how and by what means. The question is whether knowledge from Indian schools of philosophy can enlighten and perhaps provide new directions in research on consciousness by Western philosophers and scientists. The diploma thesis is divided into four parts. The first part deals with the mind and consciousness from the point of view of Eastern teachings. The second part deals with the issue of consciousness from the perspective of Western philosophy. The third part shows the methods of investigating consciousness with emphasis on introspection and phenomenological methods. The thesis conclusion is dedicated to a comparison of the differences and similarities found, and also to reflections on the benefits of possible further collaboration between Eastern and Western thinkers on defining consciousness. |
