Abstract: Práce se zabývá zmapováním vodních toků na území Krkonošského národního parku a zasazením zjištěných poznatků do obecnějšího historického, ekonomického a ekologického kontextu. Terénní výzkum byl klíčovou částí diplomové práce, byla během něho zaměřena část povodí řeky Úpy a klíčové vodohospodářské stavy, jež se na těchto tocích nacházejí. Druhou rovinu práce tvoří pozadí, které je s hospodářským využitím vodních toků spojeno, včetně možných důsledků pro krkonošskou přírodu.Informace získané při terénním výzkumu budou nadále využity Správou KRNAP.
Abstract in different language: This thesis called ?The Watercourse in Krkonoše Mountains? focuses on waterworks located in region Krkonoše on one of the most important flow in this region -Úpa. The main goal of this thesis was to describe waterworks and try to connect them with the historical context. The thesis itself may be divided into seven main chapters. Besides the main objective of the thesis - history of use of waterworks in Krkonoše Mountains and their current status ? there is quite a large space devoted to an introduction to the topic and description of the region from the geographical point of view. To understand the issue it is necessary to introduce the whole region and also outline the history of the use of waterworks in the past. The first two chapters are devoted to more general introduction to the region. Chapter two deals with the geological parameters that emphasize the causes of the current appearance of the region. The third chapter is devoted to hydrological conditions. The fourth chapter is devoted to the use of watercourses in the past (ancient, medieval and modern times). Chapter five deals with the use of waterways in Krkonoše Mountains mostly in the 19th century. Chapter six examines history of the use of small hydropower plants in the Czech Republic. This chapter also focuses on the role of small hydro power plants in the modernization of Czechoslovakia. Chapter number seven is focused on a brief history of the Krkonoše Mountains National Park, the main part of this chapter is focused on the current position of National Park Administration for the construction of hydroelectric power plants, respectively the economic use of water flows in general. The eighth chapter describes the findings from the own field research. There is devoted relatively wide area to the observed facts and their interpretation. The field research took place in Krkonoše Mountains and the was emphasized on the middle and lower flow within the national park. The main goal of this thesis was to describe the history and the current situation of waterworks and watercourse in Krkonoše mountains, which was fullfilled. The beneficial part of this thesis was to public own pieces of knowledge gained thanks to the field research. These information are attached to the thesis on DVD.
