| cs |

dc.description.abstract-translated | This thesis which deals with the problem of interpretation of literary texts in the concept of Umberto Eco clarifies the chosen aspects and changes of Eco´s theory of interpretation on the basis of his own reasonings which develop in the question of reader´s competention and demarcation of his activity in terms of the understanding the text and which are reflected in connection with contemporary philosophical and literary theoretical thinking. According to Eco the right approach to interpretation lies in searching intentio operis (i.e. so that the limits of interpretation are in the line with the rights of the text, which doesn´t mean, that they are identical with the rights of the author), which it is possible to talk about only as about result of the conjecture of reader. The basic intentio operis is then a production of model reader, which is able to make conjectures about it. The initiative of the reader consists in searching for the model reader, which is identical with the intentio operis in the end. Besides the theoretical constructs model author/reader Eco operates with another cultural contruct - fictional world, whereas this "small" world of the fictional figures, which is set up as fictional text, is named by Eco as handicapped. | en |
